Good ships for low-sec ratting? - EVE Online Forums
(8 days ago) Belt ratting, this is doable in a destroyer; Cosmic signatures (combat sites), some of these are doable in a destroyer, but you also need to be able to scan. In contrast to high sec, belt ratting in low sec can be quite profitable for a new player. The idea is you warp from asterroid belt to asterroid belt and kill the rats there.
Ratting 101 - EVE University Wiki
(2 days ago) In low sec, you are better off scanning for anomalies and searching for rats there, as that will be at least slightly harder to find by player pirates, as they will need to conduct the same scans to find you. With the right precautions, you can make as much ISK per hour ratting in low sec space as from running level 3 missions.
The Best PvE Lowsec Belt-Ratting Ship? - EVE Online Forums
(5 days ago) For low sec, most T1 destroyers and cruisers are viable. The Algos is very cost-effective for the dps it puts out. I use this in Serpentis space. Use the drones to attack frigates while your slow Algos takes on heavier targets with its blasters. Orbit at close range of clone soldiers and battleships so you get under their guns.
Ratting in Lowsec Space - EVE New Citizens Q&A - Eve Online
(3 days ago) However for low sec ratting I suggest using a Cruiser since you'll encounter more than just NPC Frigates. Cruisers have more offensive power and more defense which means you'll be able to destroy the Rats quicker. That will also help lower your chance of being caught by roaming PvP'ers.
Beginner friendly low sec ratting? : Eve
(9 days ago) Beginner friendly low sec ratting? My brother and I just got back into eve and we’re trying to make our first decent bank. We’re currently running gnosis fits ratting in some back end 0.4 sec system but are worried about exploring too far away or going into null sec for fear of getting killed.
Ratting in Low Sec? : Eve
(4 days ago) Ratting in Low Sec - Dangerous during prime time, but during off hours and in the right systems can be sort of fun and somewhat lucrative. Ratting in low sec is more akin to a roam than it is to dedicated mission running. I usually try and find some place quiet then bust out my Myrmidon and start popping around to the asteroid belts in that system.
Ratting at NSC - EVE University Wiki
(5 days ago) Ratting in asteroid belts are greatly affected by the true-sec of the system it is being done in. Both the size of the bounties, as well as the chance of rare spawns, being affected by it, with lower true-sec giving better bounties and higher chance of rare spawns. So one factor in choosing a system to kill rats in is the true-sec of the system.

Solo LowSec ratting ships + fits? : fittings
(1 days ago) I really enjoy low sec DED sites. I like the lottery payout better than grind for x amount of time for y amount of isk. A tengu rocks serpentis/guristas DED sites, and a blinged tengu rocks the rest of them. You can also belt rat. Clone soliders in .1 and .2 sec systems are worth about 15 mil each - usually like to use an enyo for these.
EVE Search - Low-Sec Ratting
(5 days ago) Low sec rats increase in size and bounty as security goes down. In a 0.4 sec system the standard are destroyers (15-20k isk) and cruisers (50k isk). In a 0.1 it's cruisers with the occasional BC (up to 200k isk). I do not believe low sec ratting is profitable for a new player (or an old one).
Public:Ratting - Goonwiki - Goonfleet.com
(1 days ago) This is going to be geared towards low sec ratting since high sec ratting is simply lock and shoot but you can use these tactics in high sec too. Rat behavior. Most frigates will close to less than 5km, orbit you, and start blasting away. Some frigates will warp jam (disruptor or scrambler) and web you. Cruisers can vary but orbit around 5km-15km.

Anomaly Ratting – EVE HOW TO
(1 days ago) The backbone of null sec ratting: The Vexor Navy Issue. By far the most popular ratting ship in null security space is the Vexor Navy Issue aka VNI. This fine ship can run – properly fitted – all difficulty levels of combat anomalies. With good skills you can even run most sites semi-afk, only watching the screen every couple of minutes.
Stealth Bombers: The Ultimate Ninja Ratters EVE Pro Guides
(2 days ago) A Ninja Ratting Stealth Bomber can make 20-30 million ISK per hour in null sec and that's not even counting the ISK you will get from the Faction Modules you will get every once in a while! 2017 UPDATE: Since the this article was published over 32,000 EVE Pilots have used this information to get out into Null Sec and start making ISK.
algos fit for low sec belt ratting please - EVE Online Forums
(Just Now) The Algos drone ship is the best T1 destroyer for low sec ratting. I somewhat disagree with the Algos gun fit. Drones cover distance faster than your blaster ship and start applying DPS sooner, so I prefer using Drone Damage Amplifiers. If you're ratting Serpentis rats (you can change the rigs to whatever suits you)
EVE Search - Good Ratting Frigate in Low-Nullsec?
(6 days ago) I would recommend using a destroyer for low-sec ratting if you have low sp. I used to use a thrasher pretty effectively. It can easily kill BC and smaller rats. Plus with an AB it can get under a BS rat's guns and slowly pick away at it. Takes a lot of ammo but …
EVE Search - Low Cost Low Sec Ratting Ship?
(6 days ago) Ratting in low sec is not worth the trouble , its easier to ninja in 0.0 than low sec for much better reward. In less than 1 hour, you will get your insurance and fitting cost back . Use T2 heavy or meta2 , put a decent tank on it ( rats dont hit that hard ) and spam missiles to them from 60 kms. A regular T2 fit is more than enough, put 5 T2

Ratting fits for Alpha Clones [Brave Collective]
(3 days ago) Ratting fits for Alpha Clones. This page contains recommended fits for each of the four races to use while ratting. Although that restriction has now been lifted, we'll keep this page here in

The Altruist: Lowsec Survival Guide
(1 days ago) The 'dangers' of low sec aren't what keep me out of low sec - it's the sec status hit from attacking anyone first and the tedious 'grind' required to repair sec status losses. Essentially, if you want to keep your sec status intact, without the grind, you can't ever shoot first in low sec (except for reds, ofc), which is an utter crap rule.
ISK / hour Overview – EVE HOW TO
(2 days ago) ISK / hour Overview. This page gives a quick overview of all ISK making activities that I covered in this blog, ordered by the ISK per hour value of the activity. This values were calculated as described in the linked blog post. If the activity has several level available (e.g. mission agents), ISK per hour values are posted for all levels.
Ships for ratting? :: EVE Online General Discussions
(Just Now) where are you belt ratting? in low sec? as Kodo already mentioned you can make way more isk going for DED sites. sure, you might find a commander in a belt if you're lucky that drops a tag (I think these go for around 35mil or something?) but the drop rate in DEDs is way better imo. and if you are in null just run the green anomalies for better ticks. the Ishtar surely is a very strong ship
Solo Choices - Null sec ratting. Good/bad/ugly? : Eve
(7 days ago) Have you considered low sec belt ratting? 0.1 and 0.2 systems have a chance of dropping 30m security tags (perhaps 5%-10% per spawn). Plus another 5%-10% of a faction spawn, and a very small % of a Mordu Specialist spawn that drop expensive pirate BPCs. In a Tengu, you'd probably make 100m/hr.
Low Sec Lifestyle
(1 days ago) The lower the sec the higher quality/value the thingies I will find. Since I wanted to find tiny wormholes, I then promptly disconnected as I was docking because my computer rebooted. I wondered if I would come back in a pod but in fact, I did not. The last task I should do as I seek a system is move my home station.
Jester's Trek: Fit of the Week: Tag-ratting Vexor
(4 days ago) Ratting in low-sec belts without a point fitted is, imho, an exercise in madness. Ratting and PvP are not and should not be mutually exclusive. Regarding DPS required to take down the tag rats. On sisi today I found a cruiser sized "Angel Clone Soldier Recruiter". The Talos took it down in 5 volleys of null at a range of between 20 and 25km

What do all these security levels mean in Eve-Online? - Arqade
(9 days ago) 0.0 null-sec space. There are no laws. Caution: there are some systems that show up as 0.0 but actually aren't null-sec space. If a system shows up as 0.0 but there are sentry guns at gates it's low-sec space with true security status slightly above 0.0 (for example Hophib in Aridia). True security status is a number between -1.0 and 1.0.
Quickly Increasing Your Security Status EVE Pro Guides
(9 days ago) Kill rats with as high a bounty as possible. (by ratting in 0.0 instead of low sec) Change systems after every NPC kill. That last one is most important. Rather than sitting in one system killing rat after rat and only getting one increase every 15 minutes, you can move system to system ratting and get gains every 3-5 minutes.
Fit: Catalyst, Cheap Belt-Ratting by Jay Harrick EVE
(2 days ago) Just wanted to give this fit out to people (newbros especially) who wanted a specific cheap belt-ratting fit for the Catalyst. This isn't the best belt-ratting fit you're gonna find, its just for until you feel like you can upgrade/afford a better fit/ship for belt ratting. TIPS (MUST READ) -Preferably used in 0.4 systems against Serpentis rats.

Tags For Sec = Easy ISK / Ratter Kills? EVE Pro Guides
(4 days ago) The EVE Online Expansion Odyssey was released earlier today and one of the things I am most looking forward to is Tags For Sec, which will allow people with low security status (like me) who are too lazy to rat, to buy their sec back with tags and ISK. From a ISK Making point of view this means that for the first few weeks the Tags used to do

Stealth bomber (manticore) Ratting in low/null sec : Eve
(3 days ago) Manticore is the best ratting stealth bomber and works great when fighting Battleships at asteroid belts in null-sec. You just try to ignore the frigates and cruisers, kill the battleships, and get the hell out.

Where do you find rats in Eve University?
You need to go to 0.8 space or below in order to find rats. The lower the security rating of the system, the more likely you will find rats spawning there. In high sec, you will rarely, if ever, see any rats in anything bigger than a frigate.
What's the purpose of ratting in EVE Online?
Ratting is based on the principle of finding and killing NPC Pirates (aka "Rats") for the purpose of gathering bounties and loot. It is one of the most common and effective means of income in EVE Online.
